Child Safety Standards
Last updated: 18 September 2026 — Roger & Mary app (Android and iOS), www.rogerandmary.com and www.hubertetodette.fr
Roger & Mary is a private family photo-sharing service. Children appear in many of the photos our members share, so protecting them matters to us more than anything else we do. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE).
These standards explain what we prohibit, how the Service is built to reduce risk, how anyone can report CSAE to us, what we do when we receive a report, and how to reach our child safety contact. They apply to everyone who uses Roger & Mary, on the websites and in the mobile app, and they form part of our Terms of Use.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first. Then tell us at thomasjestin@gmail.com so we can remove the content and preserve the evidence.
1. Our commitment
- We prohibit child sexual abuse and exploitation of every kind on Roger & Mary.
- We remove CSAE content as soon as we become aware of it, and we terminate the accounts responsible for it.
- We report apparent child sexual abuse material (CSAM) and other CSAE to the competent authorities, including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC), and we cooperate with law enforcement.
- We comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, including in the United Kingdom and France, and with Google Play's Child Safety Standards policy and Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.
- We publish these standards openly, at a permanent address, so that anyone can read them without an account.
2. What is prohibited
For these standards, a child or minor is anyone under 18 years old. The following are prohibited on Roger & Mary, without exception, and lead to removal of the content and termination of the account:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): any image, video or other depiction of sexually explicit conduct involving a minor.
- Child sexual exploitation material (CSEM) and any sexualised depiction of a minor, including drawings, cartoons, computer-generated or AI-generated imagery, and edited or "nudified" photographs of real children.
- Sexualising a child in any way: photos that focus on a child's body in a sexual manner, and sexual, suggestive or predatory comments, tags, captions, circle names, profile names or profile pictures involving a child, even where the underlying photo is innocuous.
- Grooming: contacting, befriending or building a relationship with a child, or with an adult who has access to a child, for the purpose of sexual abuse or exploitation.
- Sextortion: threatening to share a child's intimate images in order to obtain images, money, sexual contact or anything else.
- Child trafficking, advertising a child for sexual purposes, or arranging or facilitating the sexual abuse of a child.
- Facilitating access to CSAE: sharing, requesting or linking to CSAE material, off-platform sources of it, contact details, code words or instructions for obtaining it.
- Inappropriate imagery of minors, including nudity or partial nudity of a child, even where there is no apparent sexual intent. We remove this content whether or not it was posted in good faith by a family member.
- Using Roger & Mary to make contact with a child for any of the purposes above, or to identify or locate a child for those purposes.
Our Terms of Use also require that you only post photographs of other people, and especially of children, when you are entitled to do so. If a parent or guardian asks us to remove a photograph of their child, we will remove it.
3. How the Service is designed to reduce risk
Roger & Mary is deliberately not a public social network. Several design choices limit the opportunity for CSAE:
- Private circles only. Photos are shared in circles and are visible only to the members of the circle they were shared in. There is no public feed, no public profile and no way to browse other people's photos.
- Invitation only. You join a circle when an existing member invites you. Members cannot search for, discover or contact strangers, and there is no open messaging between people who do not already share a circle.
- Minimum age of 16. Accounts may only be created by people aged 16 or over. Roger & Mary is not directed at children and we do not knowingly allow under-16s to hold an account. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we close it and delete the associated data.
- Member controls. Members can delete their own photos and comments at any time, hide a comment within a circle, remove a member from a circle they administer, and leave a circle.
- No advertising, no profiling, no public indexing of the photos our members share.
These measures reduce risk but do not eliminate it, which is why the reporting channels below are open to everyone.
4. How to report CSAE to us
You do not need a Roger & Mary account to report to us, and you do not need to be the person affected.
- In the app (Android and iOS): open the menu, tap “Any Questions?”, choose “Report a problem”, and describe what you have seen. Please write CHILD SAFETY at the start of your message so that we prioritise it.
- On the website: use the same feedback form once you are signed in, or email us.
- By email, at any time: thomasjestin@gmail.com.
To help us act quickly, please tell us where the content is (the circle, the photo, the comment), what is wrong with it, and how we can reach you if we need more detail. Never download, copy, forward or re-share suspected CSAM, including to us — describe it and tell us where to find it, and we will retrieve it ourselves.
We do not reveal the identity of the person who reported content to the person reported.
5. What we do when we receive a report
- Priority triage. Reports of CSAE take precedence over every other kind of report. We aim to review them within 24 hours of receiving them.
- Immediate removal. Where content appears to breach these standards, we remove it from every circle it was shared in, and we suspend the account that posted it while we review.
- Account action. Where CSAE is confirmed, the account is terminated permanently and we take reasonable steps to prevent the same person from creating a new account.
- Preservation. We preserve the content and the associated account records for as long as the law requires, or as requested by law enforcement, so that they can be used as evidence. Apparent CSAM is retained only for the purpose of reporting it to the authorities, is not accessible to members, and access within our team is restricted to those handling the report.
- Reporting to the authorities. We report apparent CSAM and other CSAE to NCMEC and to the competent national authority, and we respond to lawful requests from law enforcement.
- Follow-up. Where you have given us a way to reach you, we confirm that we have received your report and, as far as the law and any investigation allow, that we have acted on it.
If you believe we removed your content or closed your account in error, write to thomasjestin@gmail.com and a different member of our team will review the decision.
6. Reporting to specialist organisations
You can also report child sexual abuse material directly, and you may prefer to do so:
- International — NCMEC CyberTipline: report.cybertip.org
- International — INHOPE network of national hotlines: inhope.org/EN/report-here
- United Kingdom — Internet Watch Foundation: report.iwf.org.uk; CEOP (National Crime Agency): ceop.police.uk/safety-centre
- France — Point de Contact: pointdecontact.net; PHAROS: internet-signalement.gouv.fr
7. Our team
The people who handle these reports are trained to recognise CSAE and to escalate it. They do not download, copy or share reported material beyond what is strictly necessary to review it, remove it and report it to the authorities.
8. Child safety point of contact
Our designated point of contact for child safety matters, including enquiries from Google, Apple, NCMEC, hotlines and law enforcement, is:
Child Safety Contact, Roger & Mary
thomasjestin@gmail.com
We aim to acknowledge messages sent to this address within one working day, and reports of CSAE within 24 hours.
9. Keeping these standards up to date
We review these standards at least once a year, and whenever our Service or the law changes. They are published at https://staging.rogerandmary.com/child-safety and remain publicly available, without an account, in every country. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed.
